Welcome to www.washingtonicedogs.org.  This Web site (this “Site”) is owned and operated by The Washington Ice Dogs (“Washington Ice Dogs”, “we” or “us” or “our”).

This Children’s Privacy Statement. This Children’s Web Site Privacy Statement describes our current policies and practices with regard to the personal information we collect through this Site from individuals that we know are children under the age of 13 or in areas of this Site that are directed to children under the age of 13. With respect to other personal information collected through this Site, please see our general Web Site Privacy Statement. For purposes of this Children’s Web Site Privacy Statement, the terms child and children mean individuals under the age of 13 and the term personal information means individually identifiable information about a child collected through this Site from that child. The term parent means parent or legal guardian.

What Personal Information Do We Collect Through This Site?

To participate in some of our online activities, we ask users to provide certain personal information, such as their name, age, gender, e-mail address, mailing address, telephone number, parent’s e-mail address and preferences. These online activities include e-mail newsletters, scheduling practices/games/tournaments, Washington Ice Dogs story submissions, question/comment submissions and surveys. However, we do not condition a child’s participation in an activity on the child’s disclosing more personal information than is reasonably necessary to participate in that activity.

How Do We Use Personal Information Collected Through This Site?  

We use personal information collected from children to provide the information, offerings and services requested by these children, such as to send e-mail newsletters or to inform Washington Ice Dogs Members, including those under age 13, about Washington Ice Dogs games, practices, tournaments and activities. We also use personal information collected from children to improve the content and functionality of this Site, to better understand our visitors and members, to improve our offerings and services, and to market our events, offerings and services to children or their parents. In addition, we use personal information to contact children or their parents with offers and information about events, offerings and services from other organizations we believe will be of interest to the children or their parents.

How Do We Share Personal Information Collected Through This Site?

Except as described in this Privacy Statement, we do not share with third parties personal information that we collect through this Site from individuals that we know are under the age of 13, unless we have received parental consent. We give parents the option of consenting to our collection and use of their child’s personal information without consenting to our sharing that personal information with third parties. Subject to the foregoing, we share personal information collected online through this Site with our affiliated organizations (such as other hockey associations, leagues or teams) and other organizations that are part of our affiliates, who may use this information in ways similar to how we use this information.

In addition, there may be some other, limited circumstances in which we may share or transfer personal information in our databases to a third party, for example, to comply with a legal requirement, for the administration of justice, to protect the security of our systems or service, or in the event of a merger, reorganization, dissolution or similar event.  We do not share, distribute or publish personal information collected from parents/players with any other parties, unless already noted in this section, without your express consent in advance.  

How Can Parents Review Information Collected From Their Child?

Parents may review the personal information that we have collected from their children online, prevent the further use or collection of such information and request that we delete such information by filling out and mailing or emailing us the requested changes or deletions.  Certain information provided by parents about children is necessary to participate in the Washington Ice Dogs and may not be deleted without removing the children from the active roster of the Washington Ice Dogs.

Does This Site Use Cookies?

This Site uses certain software technology known as cookies. Cookies are small text files that a web site places on a visitor’s computer browser to store certain information about the visitor, such as a visitors preferences.
