This Website (this “Site”) is owned and operated by The WASHINGTON ICE DOGS (“The Washington Ice Dogs”, “we”, “us”, “our”), a member of USA Hockey, Inc. (“USAH”) in the Disabled/Special Hockey Division. USAH is the national governing body for the sport of amateur hockey in the United States.
Online Privacy Statement. We are committed to respecting the personal privacy of the individuals who use our Site. This online Privacy Statement (this “Privacy Statement”) describes our current policies and practices with regard to the personal information we collect, use and present through our Site. The term “personal information” means individually identifiable information about an individual collected through our Site, including without limitation, the name, age, telephone number, e-mail address, mailing address, or other personal information of that individual provided through any of our Site.
Children Under 13. We recognize the need to provide additional privacy protections for children who visit our Site. We do not permit individuals under the age of 13 to engage in certain activities on our Site without the permission of a parent or guardian.

What Personal Information Is Collected Through Our Sites. We collect the personal information you supply when you use our Site, for example, the information you provide when you register for membership in the Washington Ice Dogs or register for email signup that provides information about the activities and events of the Washington Ice Dogs, place an order for Washington Ice Dogs logo clothing or equipment via forms printed from our Site, request an e-mail newsletter, ask a question, or respond to an email from one of the representatives of The Washington Ice Dogs. This information may include your name, your address, your e-mail address and any other personal or preference information you share with us.
How We Use Personal Information. We use your personal information to provide the information, offerings and services you request, confirm your membership to The Washington Ice Dogs (and USAH) or your registration for an activity, game, tournament or event, or use our Site’ forms to order Washington Ice Dogs clothing or equipment. For example, we use your e-mail address to respond to your comments and questions or to send e-mail newsletters. We may use your personal information to personalize our Site to meet your specific needs.
We also use personal information collected through our Site to improve the content and functionality of our Site, to better understand our visitors and members, to improve our offerings and services, and to market our events, offerings and services to our visitors and members. In addition, we use personal information to contact you with offers and information about Washington Ice Dogs practices, games, tournament and events, offerings and services from other organizations that we believe will be of interest to you.
If you would prefer that we not contact you for such purposes, you may indicate this preference by sending an email to icedogsmail@washingtonicedogs.org indicating that you do not wish to receive such information from www.washingtonicedogs.org. Please indicate “Unsubscribe – Notification List” in the subject line of your email to be taken off the notification list. Bear in mind that being removed from email lists will inhibit your ability to receive information relative to Washington Ice Dogs member practices, policies, games, events, tournaments, plans and other Washington Ice Dogs activities. Email is the primary means of communication between The Washington Ice Dogs and its members.
We will use reasonable efforts to honor such requests to be removed from a mailing list. You must understand, however, that even if you “opt-out,” you may still receive communications from us, for example, if we receive your contact information from another source or if we initiated the communication before we received your “opt-out” request.
Disclosure of Personal Information. We share personal information collected through our Site with our affiliated organizations (such as other hockey associations, leagues or teams) and other organizations that are part of our affiliates, who may use this information in ways similar to how we use this information and to abide by the rules and regulations of those teams, leagues, and tournaments with which the Washington Ice Dogs participates. In addition, we reserve the right to share personal information with local hockey organizations, including without limitation members of USAH, American Special Hockey Association (“ASHA”) and Special Hockey International (“SHI”) to meet their membership and participation rules. We do not share, distribute or publish personal information collected from parents/players with any other parties, unless already noted in this section, without your express consent in advance.
Security. We are committed to safeguarding your privacy on our Site. We use a combination of security techniques, procedures and organizational measures and restrictions to help protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. Only those Washington Ice Dogs individuals associated with Washington Ice Dogs who need access to your information to carry out business functions of the Washington Ice Dogs are allowed access to such personal information. Our security policies are reviewed periodically and revised as required. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of the information that you transmit to us.
If you would prefer that we not share your personal information with our affiliated organizations, or not share personal information with other Washington Ice Dogs Members, you may indicate this preference by sending an email to icedogsmail@washingtonicedogs.org indicating that you do not wish to share such information. Please indicate “Unsubscribe – Share List” in the subject line of your email to be taken off the “Share” list. Any Washington Ice Dog player/member who does not allow personal information to be shared with affiliated organizations risks being excluded from games and tournaments where host teams require such personal information.
Cookies. Our Sites use certain software technology known as “cookies.” Cookies are small text files that a web site places on a visitor’s computer browser to store certain information about the visitor, such as a visitor’s preferences or personal settings. Some web browsers provide you with the ability to turn off or refuse cookies. However, if you turn off cookies or refuse cookies, some of the features of our Site may not function properly.
Links to Other Websites. This privacy policy applies only to our Site. These Sites contain links to other websites, potentially including those of advertisers and sponsors which are not currently used on our Site. Accessing and Updating Your Information. We encourage you to keep your personal information current, especially for Washington Ice Dogs Members whose contact information changes during a hockey season. You may contact the Washington Ice Dogs via email at icedogsmail@washingtonicedogs.org and request to make updates.
You may ask to have your registration information removed from our active databases; however, because we keep track of all registrations and payments by year, we cannot delete information associated with past registrations or current year without your written request to remove a player from the Washington Ice Dogs roster. Such request must be sent via email to washingtoicedogs@gmail.com.
No Guarantees. While this privacy statement establishes standards for the collection and maintenance of data, and while efforts will be made to meet the said standards, we are not in a position to guarantee compliance with these standards. There may be factors beyond our control that may result in the disclosure of data. Consequently, we offer no warrantees or representations s regards maintenance or non-disclosure of data.
